AAT – Animal Assisted Therapy is goal-directed where the animal that meets specific criteria is an integral part of the therapeutic process. AAT is prepared by qualified professional staff with specialized expertize within their field of work.

 

Key characteristics: there are specific, carefully planned goals for each individual involved and the process is documented and evaluated. It is delivered over a longer time period.

 

It may be group or individual in nature.

Where is it implemented?

The therapy is carried out in institutions with which the institution PET signed the agreement on cooperation and which houses professional staff qualified and trained in the field of therapeutic mediation with the aid of a dog.

 

How long does it last?

From 15 min to maximum 60 min, with obligatory breaks in between for the dog.
